I received an email that my library items are overdue, what does that mean?

Answer

Most items borrowed from the Milne Library are due back at the end of the semester during which you borrowed them. After the building closes on the last day of the semester, any un-returned items will be declared overdue. Patrons will immediately receive an initial notice of overdue items. Reminders will be sent out 10 and 15 days later. 20 days after the end of the semester a final notice will be sent out and the items will be declared lost.

There are no overdue fees for items borrowed from Milne Library. Patrons are however responsible for lost items. Once an item is declared lost, the patron is responsible for a $50 replacement fee for each item, or may return the item to have the fee waived.

As long as the item is returned, there is no fee.

Items can be returned to the Milne library circulation desk during open hours, deposited in either the front or rear building book drops 24/7, mailed back to the library, or returned to any SUNY library.
